Bridgewater hosts Polar Bear Plunge

On Sunday, January 16th Bridgewater Residents held the Bridgewater Polar Bear Plunge at the Bridgewater Pool enjoyed with a breakfast served after. All donations and money raised in conjunction with the Polar Plunge event went to Hopes Kitchen, a ministry ran by Ocean View Presbyterian Church helping individuals in need receive hot meals, showers, clothing and personal items.


There were 12 brave participants who signed up to take the plunge: Frostbite Mary, Aqua Dawn, On the Rocks Greg, Blizzard Deana, Shiver Janine, Ice Cube Eva, Glacial George, Arctic Dania, Goosebump Gary, Snowplow Matt, Chilly I Mark and Chilly II Travis. Each participant received sponsors who signed up to support the “polar plungers”.


Awards were given for the best costume and most money raised. On the Rocks Greg took home Best Costume while Aqua Dawn took home Most Money Raised with $1,365 dollars raised! Blizzard Deana was the runner-up for the Most Money Raised award acquiring $1,255 dollars for Hopes Kitchen.
