Hurricane Preparedness Q & A Held for Bridgewater Residents

Whether you’re a long-time resident or a newcomer to the area, June-November is considered Hurricane season in the Atlantic.  It doesn’t mean the area will be impacted by a storm; it means to plan and prepare to make the best and safest decisions during a weather emergency.https://www.scemd.org/stay-informed/publications/hurricane-guide/

Over 87 Bridgewater residents were in attendance as a representative from SCEMD (South Carolina Emergency Management Division) spoke, handed out the SC Hurricane Guides, and answer questions.

One of the standard features in homes built by Chesapeake Homes at Bridgewater is the Quick Tie system.  The galvanized wire rope is installed to secure the connections between the roof and walls and between the walls and foundation.  These hold-downs provide resistance to uplift and lateral forces, such as wind shear. https://quicktieproducts.com/quickties/
