Around Town, Cool Breakfast Places Nearby

Who doesn’t like to go out for a leisurely breakfast or brunch? It’s the most important meal of the day, right? Luckily for us, North Myrtle Beach, Little River, and the surrounding areas are home to some cool and unique breakfast spots. All complete with fresh, piping hot coffee! Here’s the inside scoop from a few locals on where to go for your next breakfast or brunch experience: (Not in any particular order)

Blueberry Grill: Located at Barefoot Landing (just a 10-minute drive from Bridgewater), Blueberry Grill serves breakfast until 3 PM! Don’t worry if you aren’t an early riser. You can even put your name on a waitlist from their website. Specialties include Gourmet Omelets, Unique Pancakes combinations, Benedicts, including the crab or salmon Benedict. Don’t forget to order a basket of Beignets to start!

Johnny D’s Waffles and Benedicts:This restaurant has gained popularity over the last few years that they have opened a North Myrtle Beach location and another one on the south end of the Grand Strand. They are famous for their delicious waffles and benedicts. A popular item is the Red Velvet Waffle, served with cream cheese icing, topped with butter and cinnamon sugar- What is not to love about that? Must try here is the Pork Belly Benedict and Pound Cake French Toast!

Mama Jean’s: Country cooking like Yo Mama would serve (that’s their tag line). Serving Country Cooking for Breakfast and Lunch, you better come hungry! Saturday and Sunday is the All-you-can-eat breakfast buffet and Monday-Friday they offer a lunch buffet. For breakfast, try the pancakes, French toast wedges, biscuits with sausage gravy, and creamed chip beef. Mama Jeans has been in the Little River area since 1994 and is not to be missed!

Golden Griddle: Talk about a landmark, Golden Griddle has been serving vacationers, golfers, and locals since 1975. It’s an old-fashioned pancake house featuring made-to-order omelets and is known to have the best pancakes on the beach! They do also serve lunch options if you’re not feeling the breakfast vibe.

Dino’s House of Pancakes in North Myrtle Beach: Described by some as a “hidden gem” for breakfast. They are open every day from 6 AM- 2 PM. Dino’s offers a wide variety of pancakes and not to be missed is the Cherry, Blueberry, or Strawberry Pancakes. If sweets are not your thing, try the West Coast Benedict with avocado, tomato, and Vlore Bakery cinnamon swirl toast.

Soufflés: Located close by in North Myrtle Beach, Soufflés has a small-town feel with fresh ingredients and a casual atmosphere. They are open daily from 6 Am- 3 PM serving breakfast and lunch. Souffles offers amazing crepes, try the Under the Sea with lobster, onions, peppers, spinach, and homemade hollandaise. Not to mention the Stuffed French Toast and Specialty Omelets.

Sunny Side Up, Little River: Talk about a hidden gem! Located in Little River on Hwy. 17, it’s a small place with a big offering! The Breakfast Buffet features anything and everything you could ever want, including corned beef hash and freshly baked cinnamon rolls. Order off their menu if the buffet is not your style. You will be glad you found this little nook in the heart of Little River.

Eggs Up Grill: Ok, it’s a chain BUT a wonderful place offering fresh food served fast. They offer breakfast and lunch items all day from 6 Am until 2 PM. Try their Corned Beef Hash and Eggs, Steak & Eggs, Belgian waffles, or freshly made pancakes. The Avocado Toast was looking pretty good too!

Krave Bagel: Known for their Northern style Bagels rolled by hand, boiled, and then baked to perfection! Each day, Krave offers 12 flavors of bagels as well as bread, croissants, rolls, muffins, cookies, brownies, and cakes. They also offer lunch items as well as hot-brewed coffee and a variety of juices.

Toasted in Calabash, NC: Just over the border, you must venture to Calabash to try Toasted. Let’s talk about “Biscuit Bottoms”. It’s a grilled biscuit with a bunch of various toppings. Try the Southern Bella Biscuit with 2 eggs, bacon, banana peppers, and homemade pimento cheese. They have something different like their S’mores Pancakes, which include crushed graham crackers in the batter and topped with Hershey Chocolate and warmed marshmallows.
